On February 2017, BAZNAS Riau Islands provides a training and assistance for the mustahiq who had received productive-based zakat funds from BAZNAS Riau Islands. This event was held in BAZNAS Riau Islands’ office and divided into two shifts: morning and afternoon shift.

The speakers on this mustahiq training were Drs. Mastur Taher, M. Pd (Head of Zakat Distribution and Utilization) and Mr Tarmizi, S.Ag (Head of Secretary of BAZNAS Riau Islands). They said that the purpose of this mustahiq training is to follow up and monitor the business which was done by mustahiq, then compare it between before and after the productive-based zakat fund was distributed to them.

He expects that, in line with the main objective of BAZNAS Riau Islands, this training will contribute to reduce the economic gap between the poor and the rich. In other words, the ultimate goal is to change the mustahiq into muzakki which can help other mustahiq in the future.

The participants of this training were very excited. It was seen when they did a question and answer session with the speakers. Overall, this mustahiq training is expected to assist and guide the mustahiq on the productive economic business. And to facilitate their business on getting a halal certificate from the related parties.
