Jakarta – The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) got a special “gift” by receiving ISO 9001:2015 certificate, a global standard management system from Worldwide Quality Assurance (WQA).

“Hopefully by achieving this ISO certificate, the BAZNAS operational will be more orderly, organized, as well as having a clear amil process flow, duty, and responsibility, so that BAZNAS will be better in serving the mustahik, muzaki, and society in general,” said the Chairman of BAZNAS, Bambang Sudibyo, during the breaks on the 16th anniversary of BAZNAS in BAZNAS Office, Arthaloka Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, as cited from BAZNAS press release in Jakarta.

Some figures attended the event, namely Vice Chairman of BAZNAS Zainulbahar Noor, members of BAZNAS Ahmad Satori Ismail, Masdar F Mas’udi, Mundzir Suparta, Irsyadul Halim, Emmy Hamidiyah, Nana Mintarti, Director of AZN Arifin Purwakananta, Director of KZN Mohd Nasir Tajang, Director of General Affairs Kiagus M Tohir, as well as the management and amil-amilat of BAZNAS.

The same is conveyed by Zainulbahar Noor. “With 9001:2015 ISO, BAZNAS will further strengthen the performance and professionalism of zakat management,” said the former Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan and the first president director and co-founder of Bank Muamalat.

In the same place, the Head of Internal Audit Unit (SAI) which is also the Management Representative (MR) of BAZNAS Andriadi explained that the audit preparation process lasted for four months, starting from September 2016.

He added that BAZNAS sent some amil to take Workshop Awareness Upgrading ISO 9001:2015 in the WQA Office, Jakarta, in November 2016.

“The peak of certification process is when the external audit carried out by the WQA lead auditor Mr. Novian AP and auditor Suryadi on Monday, January 16, 2017. And alhamdulillah, we managed to get the ISO 9001:2015 certificate from WQA,” he said.

According to the Chairman of BAZNAS Bambang Sudibyo, not only the ISO 9001:2015 certificate, on this anniversary, BAZNAS also launched a number of programs such as rice ATM, aid bikes for the coffee peddlers, and BAZNAS utilization program info exhibition called “Kuat karena Zakat” (Strong Because of Zakat).

In addition, on January 18th, health care and counseling will be held in five “Rumah Sehat BAZNAS” (RSB) in Pangkalpinang (Bangka Belitung), Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Sidoarjo (East Java), and Makassar (South Celebes).

“On January 19th, we will launch BAZNAS national scholarship through teleconference with some BAZNAS Provinces to select and distribute the scholarship,” he said.

On January 20th, BAZNAS will launch Cendekia Junior High School located in Bogor Regency. On January 21st, it also will be held the BAZNAS Disaster Response training, and on January 25th there will be an “outdoor training” for mualaf in Pesantren Daarut Tauhiid Bandung with 150 participants.

On January 26, BAZNAS will hold Philanthropy Learning Forum Jakarta with the theme “The Contribution of Zakat in the SDG’s Achievement in Indonesia”.

The event will present Chairman of BAZNAS Bambang Sudibyo, Deputy Minister of PPN/Head of Maritime Affairs and Natural Resources Bappenas, Gellwyn Daniel Hamzah Jusuf, and Co Chair of Indonesia Philanthropy Steering Board, Erna Witoelar, as speakers.

In that event, BAZNAS will invite participants from zakat institutions (LAZ), philanthropy activist, scholars, government agencies, and mass media.
