BAZNAS and several humanitarian organizations were received by the Ambassador of Palestine (11/1). This meeting intended to have ‘people to people’ diplomacy between Indonesian and Palestinian citizens. This visit is expected to increase participation of Indonesian people to help Palestinian including the independence of Palestinian State.

Located at Diponegoro Street No. 59 Menteng, BAZNAS with ten delegation of Humanitarian Forum Indonesia (HFI) organization, expressed the hope of Indonesian people to make a more powerful synergy in assisting the Palestinian people, including the economic development programs, education, health and safety issues in Palestina.

On this occasion, BAZNAS Disaster Response Director, Ahmad Fikri, stated his hope to Palestinian government to strenghthen the capability of Palestinian people through education and economic resilience as the embodiment of its independence.

Taher Hamad, a delegate of Ambassador of Palestine, said that Palestinian government sent its fullest gratitude to Indonesian people for their attention over the years. He also told the story of Palestinian people who live with limitation condition until now. Limited access to livelihood, supply logistics, health services and others. So, they still need the support of Indonesian people especially in terms of humanitarian diplomacy.

Today, humanitary actions can realize the intensity of ‘people to people’ diplomacy to increase. This network is expected to be a form of positive image of international support in strengthening the political diplomacy to realize the independency of Palestina. As a closing, Hamad hopes to formally meet and discuss with other humanitarian organizations to reinforce the framework of ‘people to people’ diplomacy.
