People behaviour in using digital finance (e-money) has increased quite rapidly in recent years. Therefore, BAZNAS made another innovation in facilitating people to pay zakat through various digital zakat services.

On Monday (5/6), BAZNAS launched the www.startzakat.com portal to serve zakat, infaq, and shadaqah of the community digitally. Attended the event are Chairman of BAZNAS Prof. Dr. Bambang Sudibyo, MBA, CA and CEO of Startzakat, Muhammad Ishaq.

www.startzakat.com is a sharing portal developed by BAZNAS in collaboration with a digital payment service developer company. Through this portal, people are invited to pay zakat easily.

People just need to open the www.startzakat.com link and then follow the guidelines in that link in a fool proof.

Bambang Sudibyo said that the service through www.startzakat.com is a proof that BAZNAS keep making innovations in providing services to ease the zakat payment.

"In this portal, people are not only able to pay zakat, but also can initiate programs to help the community or relatives to get assisstance as in crowdfunding portal," he said.

People do not have to worry about the distribution of zakat in this way, because all of the program organizers and the various programs have been verified by BAZNAS.

“So, the distribution is legal and the report can be accounted for,” he added.

Previously, BAZNAS has worked with several e-commerce and online payment site providers to gain a wider share of the digital zakat market. Another ease of digital zakat is to be served through internet banking services, EDC, E-cash Mandiri, virtual account and e-Bay BRI. BAZNAS also open some counters in a number of offices and malls, one of them is at Plaza Semanggi.

To reach the services abroad, BAZNAS also strives to serve the muzaki of BAZNAS in various countries.

Director of BAZNAS, Arifin Purwakananta, said that in Ramadan 1438 H, BAZNAS targets that the campaign through these various digital facilities can contribute 30% of the total national zakat collection.

"Looking at the increasing people behaviour in doing the transaction digitally, BAZNAS is optimistic to collect 30% of the Rp 6 Trillions target of national zakat managed by Central BAZNAS, Provincial BAZNAS, BAZNAS District / City as well as official Zakat Institutions (LAZ) in Indonesia," he said.
