Bandung - To bring a decent environment, Baznas West Java seeks to preserve by planting 1,000 mangrove trees in Kampong Benting, Benting Beach Village, District Muaragembong, Bekasi.

Baznas West Java Chairman Arif Ramdani said planting mangrove trees in Muaragembong is a form of their participation in the commemoration of the National Disaster Preparedness Day 2017.

Arif continued planting 1,000 mangrove trees are very useful for reducing the increasingly severe abrasion in the region. Mangrove planting is expected to improve the economic status of the community.

"Actualy, mangrove plants can be used as a characteristic of food which is 'dodol' mangrove and mangrove juice drink that is very fresh," said Arif told reporters in a press conference in his office, Bandung, on Tuesday (25/4).

In addition to plant 1,000 mangrove trees, Baznas West Java also gives 100 nutrition package for children are not able, psychosocial for vulnerable children affected by the disaster, disaster education to children, and the supply of decent clothes.

Through the Baznas West Java Disaster Response team, they are always trying to reduce the impact of disasters occurring in various regions in West Java, considering that Pasundan tatar is the highest province affected by the disaster.

"We hope this mangrove planting action can be followed by other stakeholders because it needs mangroves in Muaragembong area still need a lot" Arif concluded.
