Akademi Pendidikan Zakat Indonesia (APZI) as one of the programs planned by Puskas BAZNAS to link the supply and demand of Islamic economics human resources is currently in the discussion stage with Association of Islamic Economics and Zakat Waqf Study Program. This interesting discussion was held on Thursday, January 13, 2021 (13/01/2021), which was attended by the Director of Puskas BAZNAS, the secretariat team, and the representatives of association such as Universitas Indonesia, IAIN Kudus, IAIN Purwokerto, UIN FAS Bengkulu, IAIN Langsa and IAIN Jember.
The program that is planned in the form of a partnership between BAZNAS and colleges is motivated by the low human resources of zakat waqf and Islamic economics students working in regional BAZNAS, causing a wide gap in the realm of practitioners. In the future, students will have opportunities for internships at regional BAZNAS. Furthermore, students will get wider relations, the internship they do can be converted into semester credit units, and they will have the opportunity to get recommendations to work at the regional BAZNAS after graduation.
This discussion ended with a mutual agreement in the forum, where each association agreed and fully supported the implementation of APZI program. In the future, an agreement will be made between three parties, such as the central BAZNAS, the college, and the regional BAZNAS. Students of the zakat waqf study program will be prioritized for internships in the amil position while the Islamic economics study program will be offered internships. With the increasing number of Islamic economics and zakat waqf study programs, it is expected to be a great opportunity for the implementation of this program in the future.
