On Tuesday (21/1), Puskas BAZNAS held a Kick Off Meeting for the Indicators for the Mapping of Zakat Potential Survey. This survey is in collaboration with 5 campuses which are spread throughout Indonesia, including STEI Al Islah Cirebon, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Aceh, Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak, STAI Al Azhar Gowa, and Universitas Iqra Buru.

Zakat management must be supported by comprehensive data and research. The Indicators for the Mapping of Zakat Potential (IPPZ) is a measurement tool used to measure the zakat potential of a region based on the objects of zakat. The goal of this research is expected to be a reference for every region in maximizing their zakat collection and management.

IPPZ consists of seven main components, which are the potential for agricultural zakat, zakat of farm animals, zakat for cash, zakat on profession, and corporate zakat. What distinguishes the previous research done in 2019 with this year’s research is that this year the zakat potential of every city and district will also be included in the measurement. This survey is targeted to be finished by the end of March and published for the public at the beginning of April 2022.
