Zakat core principles are expected to practically implemented by zakat institutions. The research of Implementation Index of Zakat Core Principle by Zakat institutions has now entered the pilot project stage.

At this stage, the Zakat institutions assessment will be carried out using a questionnaire that has been formed through the process of Focus Group Discussion and Expert Judgment. The pilot project was carried out in ten Zakat institutions by considering the variations in the Zakat institutions characters in Indonesia in order to be able to describe the implementation process at a later stage.

The Zakat institutions character that follows the pilot project is based on areas consisting of the western, central and eastern parts of Indonesia. The pilot project of Zakat institutions is also assessed based on the Zakat institutions level, namely the provincial and district/city levels.

The results of the pilot project will be taken into research to advance the study of the Implementation Index of Zakat Core Principle. It is hoped that this study can assist the Zakat institutions in improving zakat management based
