BAZNAS Center of strategic studies is currently researching the potential of zakat and poverty mapping based on dub-district levels. There are many aspects that affect the level of zakat distribution’s effectiveness, such as mapping program locations and data availability.

Data is an important aspect that can spur the accuracy of zakat distribution. Nevertheless, in Indonesia, the availability of poverty data regarding the distribution of the underprivileged population coupled with zakat data remains poor.

Therefore, this study attempts to map poverty data and the distribution of mustahik and muzaki registered with the OPZ in D.I. Yogyakarta, Banten and DKI Jakarta. This study is expected to assist stakeholders in poverty alleviation by presenting and synchronizing poverty data from the BPS and the Ministry of Social Affairs with zakat data from the BAZNAS.
