The National Zakat Index (NZI), developed by BAZNAS Center of Strategic Studies (Puskas-BAZNAS) in 2016, is a benchmark that can measure the performance of zakat institutions in Indonesia.
The NZI contributes the novelty to the zakat literature, notably as a means of zakat performance yardstick. Over the years, the NZI has been playing a critical role in Indonesia's zakat development.
As the dynamics and challenges in the practice of zakat management have been changing, the NZI thus needs to adopt such circumstances. That being the case, the National Zakat Index 2.0 is a revised version of the 2016 NZI, which is adapted to the recent context.
In this version, there are several amendments made to contextualise the NZI variables to the recent context. The revision is hopefully to make the NZI more relevant to the recent issues of zakat management. Full access of the NZI 2.0 is here.
